The past 29th January marked the kick-off meeting of the GreenME project in Barcelona, signalling three days of collaboration and innovation. This Horizon Europe initiative aims to expand nature-based therapy and green care approaches to enhance adult mental health and promote well-being equity, while also fostering socio-ecological co-benefits. Green care encompasses integrating nature into daily life through green infrastructure, supporting active interaction with nature for health benefits, and providing nature-based therapy as a treatment for individuals.

During this event, NATURELAB’s commitment to fostering cross-fertilisation among other nature-based therapy (NBT) and nature-based solutions (NBS) initiatives was evident. Project coordinators Ana Estela Barbosa and Margarida Rebelo seized the opportunity to showcase NATURELAB’s developments and outcomes, paving the way for further collaboration with sister projects.

The atmosphere was vibrant, with enthusiastic participation from Patrizia Tenerelli, the Project Officer overseeing both initiatives and representatives from related projects. This collective dedication underscores a shared commitment to promoting well-being, equity, and climate resilience. As discussions unfold and partnerships flourish, the synergies between these projects stand as a beacon of hope for a greener, healthier future. Together, we embark on a journey towards empowering communities and nurturing the well-being of all.
