On September 26th, 2023, Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil (LNEC) will host at its headquarters in Lisbon, Portugal, the Conference entitled: “Urban environments and human health in Lisbon”, to mark the World Environmental Health Day.
In a context in which two-thirds of the world’s population is expected to live in cities by 2050, it urges to reflect on ways to promote healthy behaviours and spaces that promote well-being and health, in which nature-based interventions (NBI) will play a fundamental role.
This conference will present ideas, ongoing initiatives in the city of Lisbon, and results of studies that relate environmental determinants with human health, carried out in partnership between Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, Lisboa E-Nova – Agência de Energia e Ambiente de Lisboa, Instituto de Saúde Ambiental da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa, and the LNEC itself.
NATURELAB project will be represented by the coordinator, Dr. Ana Estela Barbosa (LNEC), who will give a presentation with the theme: “Nature-based interventions and strengthening health and well-being (NATURELAB project)”.
